Well, Sarma has pretty much said it all with regard to our new book. I just want to chime in and let everyone know that we worked very hard writing this book and really tried to put useful and relevant information in there for you.
Our book is best suited for IT professionals who have a need to learn Oracle Essbase or just wish to gain a better understanding of multidimensional OLAP database technology. Whether you are a novice Essbase programmer or are proficient and just want to sharpen your skills, you will benefit from this book.
Not only do we thoroughly explain how to use Oracle Essbase, we also give the reader a complete overview of how multidimensional databases work and the concepts behind them. On top of all of this great information, Sarma and I also give you tips and tricks that you will not find in the provided documentation and can only be gleaned from many years of actual on-the-job Essbase experience.
One this we have stopped short of when it comes to explaining how to set up and implement Oracle Essbase databases is the use of specific examples. Essbase is a funny creature and what works for one may not work for another. We explain nicely how to approach this fact of Essbase.
